UT keys and access cards are for official University use only. They should not be loaned out or given to another. Keys and cards should be returned to H.R. or Facility Management when no longer needed.

Grand Master:
A key that operates multiple locks for all buildings
Approved: BY PRESIDENT ONLY
Building Master:
A key that operates all locks within a single building
Approved by: Dean, Executive Director or Vice President
Department Master:
A key that operates all locks within a single Department
Approved by: Dean or Executive Director
Individual:
A key that operates one or two locks that are keyed alike
Approved by: Director, Chair, Executive Director or Dean
Electronic Key
Exterior Doors:
Typically this is electronic access for a building.
- Standard access allows a person to unlock the door, enter the building and the door will lock once closed.
- Permanent building lock/unlock allows a person to unlock the door and it will remain unlocked once the door closes.
Approved by: Director, Chair, Executive Director or Dean
Student electronic access is given for the current semester. Request to reactive will be required if student returns to work for the next term.
